The boys gymnastics program builds confidence, self discipline, fitness and fundamentals with emphasis on coordination for our aspiring male gymnasts.  Boys ages 5 and up will learn the sport in a positive atmosphere, while flippin' and floppin'.  Please speak with a staff member to determine the level which would be the most appropriate for his age and ability to develop his skills in the safest manner possible.  We do offer a FREE trial class in order to evaluate your son's abilities.

Boys Gymnastics Programs
Red - Beginner                                                55 minutes

Red is for children (ages 5 & up) with little to no experience in gymnastics.  Your child will be introduced to the basics and safety of gymnastics on all apparatus.  Skills children will work on include the following:

Floor: Cartwheels, bridge holds, forward & backward rolls, handstands, tripods
Pommel Horse: R & L Stride swing, front stride, rear support
Rings: Swings, swing to invert, chin-hold
Vault: Controlled landings, board approach, squat-ons, forward rolls
P-Bars: Straight arm support, tuck support, straddle travel
High Bar: 3 Tap swings, 5 casts, pullover (low bar)

 

White - Advanced Beginner                             55 minutes

White is for children (ages 5 & up) who have some experience or have completed Red level skills.

These students will work the following skills:

Floor
: Bwd pike roll, handstand roll down, backbend kickover, headstand, round-
          off rebound
Pommel Horse: Single leg cuts, front and rear supports
Rings: Ring swing, invert, skin-the-cat
Vault: Dive roll onto resi, handstand hop
P-Bars
: L-hold, 3 support swings, upper arm class
High Bar: Cast back hip circle, chin-up swing to pullover

 

Blue - Intermediate                                        55 minutes

Blue is for children who have experience or have completed White level skills.

These students will work the following skills:
Floor
: Back handsprings, press handstands
Pommel Horse: Leg travels, horse loop, mushroom circles
Rings: swings to in-locates, flip dismount
Vault: Handstand flop, introduction to front handsprings
P-Bars
: Kips, handstands
High Bar: Baby giants, knee swings, kips
